This article is about how you can whitelist email addresses
What is an email whitelist?
To whitelist an email address just means you add them to your approved senders list
This tells your email client that you know this sender and trust them, which will keep emails from this contact at the top of your inbox and out of the junk/spam folder
If your dealership email address uses a custom domain, ie @business name, you will need to create or add a Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record to your domain’s DNS allowing mail to be sent from Salesforce (Blackpurl's platform provider) on behalf of your domain
By doing so will help prevent emails sent from Blackpurl to customers from ending up flagged as junk/spam
Setting up a SPF Record
As Blackpurl uses the Salesforce platform, we recommend that you set up a Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record for your email domain. To pass SPF checks, include Salesforce in that record
- If you don’t already have one, create an SPF record. There are many online resources available if you need assistance with setting up your SPF record or please discuss this with your IT
- Include _spf.salesforce.com in your SPF record when sending mail from the Blackpurl application
Please note - Only use _spf.salesforce.com. Other SPF records for the salesforce.com domain aren’t relevant to sending mail from the Blackpurl application
Example SPF records:
- v=spf1 mx include:_spf.salesforce.com ~all
- v=spf1 mx ip4:204.14.234.64/28 ip4:204.14.232.64/28 ip4:182.50.78.64/28 ip4:96.43.144.64/31 ip4:96.43.148.64/31 include:_spf.salesforce.com ~all
