What Service Job Statuses does your Dealership want to use in your Blackpurl

Blackpurl has given you the choose of what Service Job Statuses you want to use in your Blackpurl and also the ability to edit the names and label to suit your Dealership

To access the list available and make your selection:

1.  From the Blackpurl Header > click then select System Settings

2.  From the System Settings Dashboard, click

3.  Open up the section Service Job Status

4.  Blackpurl will provide you with a list of Job status names

Some of these status ie Estimate / New job / Job complete / Ready to Invoice / Invoiced - you will be unable to edit the name or make them inactive as they are a required status

Example below:

For the other statuses, the Dealership will be able to select / deselect the Service Job Statuses simply by toggling on and off which service job status you want to use

We have also given the Dealership the ability to edit the status to fit in with how the Dealership operates, simply by clicking on the next to the status that you want to edit

When you click , the Edit Job Status window will pop up for you to change the sections that you need to:

Job status name - you can remove the name that is there and change it to your new status name instead

Short name - what is your new short name for this status?

Styling - what label do you want to give this status?

Active - is it active?

- when you have finished - don't forget to save

If will also tell you how many active service jobs are currently using this status

Using the Service Job Status

Once you have made your selection / edited any etc, then the Service Job Statuses will be available to use in your Dealership on each Service Job

Please discuss with your Dealership how you want these statuses to be used and what they mean to your Dealership

Ready To Invoice Enforcement

This would allow the Dealership more control over the ability to Invoice - the workflow of your service department may require that someone review all completed jobs before they are finalized and invoiced

This new control is only available when you have the Ready to invoice status activated

When this new control has not been enabled, the job status can be either Job complete OR Ready to invoice in order to checkout or otherwise finalize the service job

If this new control has been enabled, you will not be able to checkout or otherwise finalize a service job until the status of that job has been set to Ready to invoice

To enable this setting:

1.  From the Blackpurl Header > click  then select System Settings

2.  From the System Settings Dashboard, click

3.  Open up the section Shop Settings

4. Then move the toggle to enable the setting - To finalize a job the status must be Ready to invoice

5.  Once this new control is enabled, the user will not be able to checkout or otherwise finalize a service job

until the status of that job has been set to Ready to invoice

The User will need to have the relevant User Permission:

This article will explain how you can set this new User Permission - What are User Permissions / How to Setup User Permissions
