This article will explain how to use Global Search feature which is available from the Blackpurl Header
1. From the Blackpurl Header > Click into
This will bring up your search options:
To explain the options, we are using the example that we want to search for the Customer: Cathy Price
Your options are:
Option 1:
- Click into the Search for.... field and just type your customer's name (or part thereof) and the system will search the whole of Blackpurl database for matches
- It will return ANY item with the words Cathy Price (or part thereof) is attached to ie any customer orders / any customers / email address etc
- If you find the result you are after, just click on the relevant line item and the system will load the information.
Option 2:
- Narrow down your search criteria by using a Keyword search
- Click into the Search for.... field and then select the Keyword search you want to use
- In our example, we are searching for a Customer so we would click on the Keyword: Customer or we could type Customer: to bring up the keyword
- Once the Keyword Customer is in the search field we then type in Cathy Price (or part thereof) and the system will search only the Customer database for Cathy Price
This includes names/email address etc in the Customer database only
- If you find the result you are after, just click on the relevant line item and the system will load the information
Option 3:
- Click in the Search field > type in Cathy Price (or part thereof) and then click on ADVANCED SEARCH
- This option will take you to the Reporting (Sidebar Search Feature) and will list in detail any result that matches your search details
- If you find the result you are after, just click on the relevant line item and the system will load the information
Tip:
Search Option 3 and the Reporting will allow you to produce and print reports from your search results
